Welcome to the Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce Tax Action Center. Here you will find the latest
news and information on various tax proposals being considered at the State, County, and
City level that will affect your business.
Businesses and consumers in Chicago are facing a tsunami of taxes that threaten to
overwhelm citizens and damage our economy.
On their own, no single tax may be onerous, but taken together they add up and can be a
serious drag on consumer spending, and business decisions regarding growth and investment.
At the rate we are going, our State, County, and City are getting an unflattering reputation as an
expensive place to live and do business, and that is not good for business. The lack of predictability
from one budget cycle to the next makes it difficult for businesses to thrive.
The Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to working with State, County and City officials to
find revenue solutions that do not overburden businesses and residents and keep our region moving forward.

state legislator, county commissioner and/or city alderman to let them know how these taxes will affect you.
